Greg Murdock

Greg Murdock was born in Saskatoon, Sk in 1954 and currently resides in Vancouver, BC He studied at the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, 1974-77, Instituto Allende, Mexico 1978-79, and Emily Carr Institute of Art & Design, Vancouver, BC, 1979-81. He has been represented by the Olga Korper Gallery, Toronto since 1987. Murdock exhibits regularly in Vancouver as well as showing in Los Angeles and New York. Murdock’s work has continually explored processes that mediate between drawing and painting. Combining many methods using media such as fresco, encaustic and oil paint, the activity of drawing and mark making is always present in his work. His imagery deals with ideas of implied ritualized space in architecture and landscape, as well as the intersections between them.
