ADAC 60th Anniversary Press Release— for ADAC use
Toronto, ON — The Art Dealers Association of Canada (ADAC) marks its 60th anniversary with a pop-up exhibition at Bau-Xi Gallery | Dufferin on Dufferin St. in Toronto, running from June 11, 2026, to June 14, 2026. The ADAC 60th Anniversary Pop-Up Exhibition, in support of the ADAC Foundation, presents 90+ works from 52 member galleries across the country, spanning the 1800s to the present day. The exhibition is free to attend, and all works are available for purchase.
Founded in 1966 at the invitation of the Canada Council for the Arts, ADAC is the oldest trade organization for commercial art dealers in Canada. Its 64 members represent galleries from across Canada—from Victoria, B.C., to Halifax, Nova Scotia—that deal in contemporary, historical, modern, and international art.
The anniversary exhibition places historical and contemporary works in direct conversation. Works by Emily Carr, Annie Pootoogook, and Alex Colville are shown alongside those of Scott Sueme and James Carl, offering visitors a survey of Canadian art across generations, geographies, and mediums. The ADAC 60th Anniversary Pop-Up Exhibition demonstrates the diversity and complexity of Canadian art and the galleries that exhibit it. [ADAC, Press Release]

About the ADAC and the ADAC Foundation
The Art Dealers Association of Canada (ADAC) was founded in 1966 as a not-for-profit trade organization, binding together the largest representation of major private commercial galleries in Canada, who in turn represent the country’s leading visual artists, both contemporary and historic. ADAC strives to create and foster opportunity and community in the visual arts, which can be realized in many forms. The association has a dedicated Advocacy Committee and Foundation Committee that works towards the betterment of the Membership as well as Canadian Art as a whole.
Established in 1986, the Art Dealers Association of Canada Foundation is a registered charity empowered to receive donations for the purpose of supporting the visual arts and giving back to the community. The Foundation’s mandate is to advance the arts through public education, programming, and exhibition.
