Thibert has worked mainly three dimensionally over the years. His work has moved from being abstract through the 70’s and early 80’s to working with image based narratives from the late 80’ s to 2010. His narratives have unfolded using symbols and metaphors. These sculpture have dealt with aspects of his life as a springboard to developing new ways at presenting his sculptural ideas i.e. The Portrait of the Artist series. Other bodies of sculptures have included “In the Mind of the Viewer” series, the “Billie” series and the “Icarus” series. In 2011 Patrick began to re-examine abstraction. His sculptures have continually made use of and have combined a variety of processes and materials to develop his work.
Over the years he has given lectures about his work in a variety of public venues in Canada and the USA.
