Lois Andison was born in Smiths Falls, Ontario. She currently lives and works in Toronto, Ontario.
She received her BFA (Honours) from York University in 1990 graduating First Class with Distinction. She also studied at Sheridan College of Applied Arts and Technology where she Graduated with High Honours and was awarded the Board of Governors Silver Medal.
